Tradeshow events have long been a staple in most B-to-B marketers tool bags, and while “virtual” tradeshows have tried to fill the gap – let’s face it, they just are NOT the same! Attending an industry tradeshow to discover new solutions, innovations and networking in person is an entirely different experience.
A model created by CEIR, Center for Exhibition Industry Research (www.ceir.org), predicts the tradeshow/event industry will soon exit the COVID tunnel with small, regional events already beginning to happen and larger shows picking up in the third quarter.
Many shows have just postponed first and second quarter events to Q3 and Q4 of 2021, giving this battered industry a glimmer of light at the end of this tunnel.
This prediction is spot on for Central Florida and the Orlando Orange County Convention center has been poised and ready since the shutdown in March of 2020. In fact, OOCC is the LARGEST convention space, out of 16 venues, open for business across the US right now. Orlando has hosted more than 50 events from March 2020 – December 2020 under modified operations to ensure social distancing and safety. It is clear the Central Florida convention market, along with their hospitality, manufacturing, hotelier and tourism supporting markets, are ready and open for business. Along with the experience to prove it!
